Coalition OC is seeking a Director of Health Information Technology to provide strategic leadership and subject matter expertise across health information technology (HIT), interoperability, data, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital health initiatives.

The Director will lead HIT programs and technical assistance initiatives designed to strengthen the capacity of member health centers, optimize technology and data use, support quality improvement and value-based care, and advance health systems transformation. The position works collaboratively with Coalition OC leadership and staff, member health centers, technology partners, health plans, government agencies, and regional collaboratives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of HIT programs, initiatives, and technical assistance services.
  • Serve as the lead for Coalition OC's Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) program and oversee HRSA-defined goals, milestones, performance measures, and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary resource to member health centers on HIT, interoperability, digital health, and data strategy.
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation related to technology optimization, workflow improvement, and adoption of best practices.
  • Support initiatives involving EHRs, health information exchange (HIE), interoperability, AI, telehealth, healthcare analytics, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead efforts to strengthen Coalition OC's internal data infrastructure, reporting capabilities, dashboards, and analytic resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with EHR vendors, QHIOs, health plans, government agencies, technology partners, and regional collaboratives.
  • Manage HIT-related grants, contracts, deliverables, budgets, reporting requirements, and implementation timelines.
  • Represent Coalition OC at regional, state, and national meetings and initiatives related to HIT and digital transformation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Information Technology, Public Health, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in health information technology, health informatics, healthcare analytics, digital health, or healthcare operations.
  • Experience leading healthcare technology initiatives, projects, or programs.
  • Experience working with Community Health Centers, FQHCs, safety-net organizations, or healthcare delivery systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EHR systems, interoperability, health information exchange, healthcare analytics, quality reporting, and value-based care.
  • Experience managing grants, contracts, and externally funded projects.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, relationship management, and consulting skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, and standard office technology.

Work & Travel Requirements

This is an onsite position serving Orange County. Travel throughout Orange County and nationally is required to attend meetings, conferences, and provide technical assistance and consultation. Evening and weekend availability may also be required to support organizational and member needs.
